Check If Your Device Supports eSIM

Option 1: Use a Dial Code

Enter *#06# on your phone’s dialer.
If an EID (eSIM Identifier) is displayed, your device is eSIM-compatible.

Option 2: Search by Device Model

Type your phone’s model into the search bar to check if it supports eSIM.

The iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max support SIM-only in Mainland China, and are eSIM-only in the following regions: Bahrain, Canada, Guam, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and the USA.
The iPhone Air is Apple’s first globally eSIM-only iPhone (now available in Hong Kong), with no SIM card tray. This marks a major step toward a fully digital SIM future, making connectivity simpler and travel easier.
iPhone 13 models and newer support Dual SIM functionality using two eSIMs, as well as the combination of a physical SIM and an eSIM.
iPhones from mainland China and most models from Hong Kong/Macao (except iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone SE 2020, and iPhone XS) do not support eSIM.

The following Samsung Galaxy A54 models are compatible with eSIM: SCG21 (Japan), SC-53D (Japan), SM-A546B/DS (International), SM-A546S (Korea), and SM-A546U1 (International).
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE – eSIM is not supported on models from China or Hong Kong.

Google Pixel 3 devices from Australia, Japan, and Taiwan are not compatible with eSIM.
Google Pixel 3a is eSIM-compatible, except for devices purchased in Japan, with Verizon service, or from Southeast Asia.
Google Pixel 3 – eSIM not supported on devices purchased in Australia, Taiwan, or Japan. Also incompatible with models from US or Canadian carriers, except Sprint and Google Fi.
All Google Pixel phones sold in Hong Kong are incompatible with eSIM technology.

Install and Activate Your eSIM with QR Code

Open Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM > Use QR Code
Scan the QR code sent to your email.
Tap Continue to activate the eSIM, then tap Done to finish setup.
Select a label for your eSIM (such as Travel) and tap Continue.
If your eSIM includes a phone number, set it as your default line.
Set your eSIM as the preferred Cellular Data line, then tap Done.
When you arrive at your destination, turn on Data Roaming to start using the eSIM.

Install and Activate Your eSIM Manually

On your device, go to Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM > Use QR Code.
Tap Enter Details Manually.
Return to your email and open the manual installation link in the eSIM details section.
Copy and paste the SM-DP+ Address, Activation Code, and Confirmation Code (if required), then tap Next.
Tap Continue to activate your eSIM, then tap Done to complete setup.
Choose a label for your eSIM (such as Travel) and tap Continue.
If your eSIM includes a phone number, set it as your default line.
Set your eSIM as the preferred Cellular Data line, then tap Done.
When you arrive at your destination, turn on Data Roaming to start using the eSIM.

Install and Activate Your eSIM with QR Code

Open Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
Tap Add eSIM > Scan QR code from service provider.
Scan the QR code sent to your email.
Wait while the device checks eSIM information.
When prompted, tap Add to confirm.

Tap Add eSIM > Scan QR code from service provider.
Tap Enter activation code.

How do I know when my eSIM expires?

Each eSIM plan has its own validity period, usually based on data usage or days. The details will be sent to you in the confirmation email.

When your data runs out or time expires, you can easily top up or buy a new plan.

I’ve activated my eSIM and turned on mobile data and roaming, but there’s still no Internet connection. What should I do?

Most eSIMs automatically configure the APN (Access Point Name). If it does not configure automatically, you may need to set it up manually.

You can find your APN in the Manual Link sent to your email with your eSIM details.

👉 On iOS Devices:

1. Go to Settings > Cellular / Mobile Data.
2. Select your eSIM plan.
3. Tap Cellular Data Network.
4. Enter the APN in all possible APN fields.
5. Save and restart your device.

👉 On Android Devices:

1. Go to Settings > Connections.
2. Select Mobile Network > Access Point Names (APN).
3. Tap + or Add.
4. Enter the APN in the Name and APN fields. Leave other fields blank.
5. Save, select the new APN, and restart your device.

⚠️ Tip: Make sure Mobile Data and Data Roaming are enabled for the eSIM profile.
